Freezing Weather? 4 Tips To Protect Your Technology From The Cold

As the forecast for next week calls for arctic temperatures, we want to give you a quick heads up on how to best shield your technology. Below are some tips to best care for your technology:

1. Don’t Leave Your Devices In The Car

Just a few hours in the trunk can cause some damage.

2. Keep Them Warm

If you’re going outside, keep your gadgets covered in a protected sleeve or pocket to insulate any residual heat. Freezing temperatures can also cause further damage to cracked screens.

3. The Cold Drains Your Battery

Cold air will drain your batteries faster than at room temperature, so bring a portable charger if possible. When not in use, turn off your devices to conserve battery power.

4. Let Your Devices Warm Before Use

It’s better for your device to be at room temperature when turned on. So when you head inside, give your laptop or phone a few minutes to warm to room temperature before use.
